since my rendering and post-working skills have improved somewhat since I did my NWN2 stuff I decided to have another go at Sand and see if I could redo him, but I'm not quite happy with the end result. Somehow he looks a bit too feminine to me, but maybe I'm just over-critical.

I like the lighting and the skin tone, and I think his facial expression is okay, I'm just wondering if he isn't too pretty now...

I think I agree with you - he has certain femininity in this pic. I can't quite put my finger on it... maybe it's the cute little eyebrows combined with the thick eyelashes combined with the fact that he looks like he has B00BS :omg:
But I love his expression, don't you change it.

hehe that made me laugh! the boobs might be due to the top, I assure you underneath he is flat-chested and rather lean and well-toned :D

I've run into the same issues with my male elves. I've discovered tho if you adjust the squareness of the jaw just the TINIEST amount, it makes a WORLD of difference. I spent HOURS on my last male going nuts until I just started playing with the dials and figured it out. lol All in all tho, he looks VERY good! What hair did you use? I've been looking for something like that.

Ah, that might be it! I'll adjust his jawline a tad, see if it helps.

The hairstyle is called 'Aredhel' and comes from the Daz Studio shop. It's an older hairstyle (M3 only fit) and only comes in blonde, so I had to recolor it myself. There might be add-ons for it, but I don't have them.

I don't think he looks feminine any more than your average anime male hero looks feminine. The narrowed jawline probably does it, but I think he looks extremely tastified XD

Along with the jaw suggestions maybe play down the left cheek bone a little. It's still beautiful and well done.

Ah cool I'll have to look and see if I can find it. I've had to re-color most of the hair fits I have but it's not too hard if you're willing to play around with it abit. lol I've discovered that ShareCG is a really good place to find re-colors if you're willing to sift around abit. :)
